4/9/2024 (Permalink)

Thunderclouds form in the sky. We respond to storm damage emergencies 24 hours a day in San Bernardino County.

Our local Chino/Chino Hills team is Here to Help ® when have a storm damage emergency. The Chino Hills area typically experiences a variety of weather patterns during the spring, including several types of storms:

Thunderstorms: Springtime can also see an increase in thunderstorm activity. These storms may be accompanied by lightning, heavy rain, hail, and strong winds. While they are not as frequent or severe as in other parts of the country, they can still pose risks, including flash flooding and property damage from lightning strikes or high winds.

Pacific Storms: These are common during spring and can bring periods of heavy rain, gusty winds, and cooler temperatures. These storms often originate from the Pacific Ocean and can result in localized flooding and mudslides, particularly in areas with steep terrain.

Santa Ana Winds: Although more common in the fall, Santa Ana wind events can still occur during the spring months. These solid and dry winds originate from the Great Basin and flow towards the coast, potentially causing rapid vegetation drying and increasing the risk of wildfires in the region.

Residents of Chino Hills should stay informed about weather forecasts and be prepared for these various types of storms by securing loose outdoor items, trimming trees and branches, and having an emergency kit ready in case of power outages or evacuation orders.
