Swimming in the Kitchen

Ah, summertime in sunny southern California.
S’mores, barbecues, and long swims in the pool are commonplace and part of the joys of living in such a temperate climate. However, water damage takes no vacation days, nor does it go easier on homeowners just because the sun is out.
Kitchen floods are by and large the most common type of water loss that SERVPRO of Chino/Chino Hills responds to. Points of origin include dishwashers and refrigerators, but sinks are the more common culprit. Hypothetical situation: everyone is in the backyard swimming. While washing dishes in the kitchen, little Bobby runs in to tell you he just stuck a double backflip cannonball into the pool. He doesn’t just want you to see, he needs you to see right now, at this very instant, pronto, “come on mom, I’ve been practicing all day”, now. You follow him outside and watch in sheer terror, dreading the things that might go wrong. What if he slips? What if he accidentally runs into the fence? What if he… He lands it! You applaud and watch as he does every variation in the book. You’re so proud. They grow up so fa-
The sink is still running. It has been for nearly half an hour.
As you run inside, you nearly slip on an inch of water. It has covered your kitchen and saturated your hardwood floors.
Well, better call SERVPRO.
It’s alright to have fun in the sun but when flood water rains on your parade, give SERVPRO of Chino/Chino Hills a call at (909)548-3191. We can restore your home to pre-double backflip conditions and make it “Like it never even happened.”
